1. T. J. Cloutier
If you ask players on the tournament circuit about who they think are the best poker players in the world, T. J. Cloutier’s name always comes up. The 1998 Player of the Year, T. J. has won four World Series of Poker titles. He is the only player ever to have won bracelets in each of the three types of Omaha games: Omaha high-low, limit high Omaha, and pot-limit Omaha. A former football star in the Canadian league, T. J. turned to playing professional poker in the ’80s as a road gambler and has become one of the most celebrated tournament players in the world.

2. Phil Hellmuth
In 1989, Phil Hellmuth became the youngest person ever to win the World Championship of Poker at age 24. Since then he has won six more World Championship titles and has been named by his peers, “The best poker tournament player in the world.” In all, Phil has won over 50 poker tournaments since his career began in 1988 including becoming the first American to win the European Poker Championship in October, 2000.

3. Johnny Chan
Two-time world poker champ Johnny Chan earns a handsome living on the strength of his poker face and steel nerves. Rising to international recognition with his WSOP main event victory in 1987, and again in 1988, Johnny Chan continues to be one of the most recognized names in poker.

4. Thuan “Scotty” Nguyen
Nicknamed “The Prince”, Scotty took the World Series of Poker championship title in 1998 and is among the highest earning players of all time.

5. Doyle Brunson
Doyle has 8 WSOP bracelets to his name and has already been inducted into the Poker Hall of Fame. Poker isn’t the only game in which the legendary gambler excels.

6. Stu Ungar (deceased)
Stu Ungar is considered by many contemporaries to be the greatest No Limit Hold’em player of all time. Ungar is a three-time World Champion (with five WSOP bracelets). He won ten major No Limit Hold’em championship events (in which the buy-ins were $5,000 or higher).

7. Eric Seidel
Eric is a highly accomplished player and placed second to Johnny Chan in spectacular form during the 1988 WSOP championship event.

8. Johnny Moss
Johnny Moss is one of the greatest poker players to have ever played the game. Moss is known as the “Grand Old Man” of poker, one of the seminal figures in the storied history of America’s favorite indoor game. He is the only player to have won the World Series of Poker World Championship three times.

9. Roger Moore
Roger is considered to be among the legendary Southern gamblers, named in the same breath as Doyle Brunson.

10. Amarillo ‘Slim’ Preston
Amarillo Slim, Poker Ambassador and non-stop source of Tall Tales, has been competing in WSOP events since their inception, with a number of bracelets to his credit.
